The 'Ego-mailer'

Once you master the art of emotional blackmail,
Everyone else would have nothing as such to tell,
The arguments become one-sided,
As the decisions would anyway be made by the single-minded!!

'I' am the monarch and I know everything,
None should either argue or question anything!
My well-organized brain is stuffed with grey-matter,
What a shame, you have only filled it with litter!!

If you try to sit and explain something to me,
Be prepared for the outright rejection for free!
If you further wish to communicate the point,
Be careful not to step on the broken pieces of teapot!

I keep my natural emotions in control,
I conceal my immediate reactions in a smile,
But, this is only for the world that craves to judge.
I maintain an innocent and shy public image.

Mind you! As the principle of inertia puts it,
Disturb my egoistic slumber at your own cost!
Don't talk as my blood pressure would pump up,
Or I might experience discomfort as my sugar levels dip!!

So, the caution is to follow me at a safe distance,
Without trying to sound either your wisdom or sense,
My arguments are always one-sided,
And my decisions would remain single-minded!!

Quality of Argument

Diwali 2017

The best memory of the festival dates back to 2004, when I started my first job and went home with heavy luggage along with the box of sweets from my employer. I wanted to totally change the wardrobe of my elders and bought embroidered sarees for amma and my aunt, accessorized with matching bangles from Laad Bazaar, Charminar. The shopping also included a trendy shirt for nĂ anna(dad), new dress for my sister, t-shirt for my brother and small gifts for my cousins and grandfather. The pride, pleasure and satisfaction of watching them in the new attire on Diwali day was priceless!!

The next memorable Diwali came after 8 years. My father-in-law had an open-heart surgery and was back home before the festival. He was recovering well and was able to walk till the door and stand for a short period just in time to watch the kids burst crackers. The relief of helping him wade through the health issues and then convalescing was priceless too!!
Diwali has thus been lighting up my life with inner happiness and re-iterating the strength of having a big family. Hope Diwali has been and would be bringing the same spirit to everyone!
Happy Diwali!!

Gongura

Life seems to be just made to respect, enjoy and appreciate Mother Nature's bounty...
And one of these mystical combinations.... fresh gongura pachadi mixed in rice and rolled with a glistening drop of ghee and dipped in cream settled over superfresh curd.... Let amma feed it under the sky, on a full moon night....spiced with the gossip...
That 'God! Thanks for everything... I don't want anything more' feeling....
Heavenly!!!
