Summer for Kids

It feels like a punishment when children come back from school early because of the examinations and stay at home in the guise of preparatory holidays in between.... The mother's soul that is used to the peace, silence and serenity until late into the afternoon and gets into the habit of seeing everything spik and span till that time and enjoys a sneaky me-time is jolted to straighten up and stay on duty longer than usual!! The thought of upcoming holidays scares her to hell!!
But, the otherwise busy kids driven into the bus-school-activity-dinner regimen find their me-time too during these extra hours!! They fiddle with the toys that were pushed back into the shelf long ago, discover their interests, create new stuff from unusual things, invent games that amuse them and of course, leave back some wreckage at every nook and cranny!! One such funny fixture is the 'toy toss' invented by Prithvi, where every small plaything can be tossed like a coin... He goes to anna and asks, 'Spidey heads or Spidey tails?' and throws up the insect toy to check who won. Shaking up Amma from the nap, she is given the choice between Ferrari heads and Ferrari tails and it goes on... Meanwhile karthu is busy scribbling the endless list of professions that he needs to take up as he grows up on the door of his almirah... Summers are a true bliss and a well-deserved break for the kids...
