If a little girl finds no place in her hands, as she is carrying her
backpack in one hand and a tumbler of water in the other, and places
iPhone in the tumbler, just for the
convenience of carrying it(?????!!!!), can anyone find mistake in her
decision???!!!!!! (Not at all...........but a hearty laugh!!!)
Life is a path set with pebbles of wisdom..the choice to pick them up or ignore them makes the difference!! I re-live the journey by penning it down!

Fishy Petting!!
Though I am not against having pets, I just never took any interest in the concept. But, my kids wanted them. I opted for fish, hoping that they need little maintenance when compared to other pets. After 20 days of keeping 2 of them at home, they broke my notion n cunning idea behind having them. Leaving alone all the cleaning, I only give them a pinch of food, 3 times a day. For this meagre service, the fish love me! This might seem an exaggeration, but its true. Whenever I (only me of the 6 members at home) go near the bowl, they just open their eyes n mouth wide n jump with joy..., this gesture makes me feel so good!

Three Gundus
Back from a trip to Lord Balaji's Abode.....
kaka enjoying his rough gundu (a prop to hold while licking his finger),
prithvi shying to show his new hairstyle(hiding gundu in a cap 24x7),
phani, the proud(gundu) father of two gundus, tallying the expenses,
amma, adding up one more to the list of holy places visited this year,
and me, awe-struck by the ease of visiting Tirupathi(coutesy: Rail Tourism)! Thanks to IRCTC

Bhakta Pehladd
Kaka & Prithvi watched Bhakta Prahlada and are practicing the name
now.....one says 'pehlad' and the other corrects him 'pehlad kaadu
plehaada', 'kaadu anna! pehlaada' and the argument finally ends up in a
fight!!!
Fast Forward 6 years..... 11th Oct 2017....
The fights have turned wilder than those days... On the contrast, I am not much bothered now as these brawls are part of their process of growing up together and are set to create sweet childhood memories for them. I am just a passive viewer unless I sense danger or finally a complaint is lodged with me and then spring into action with my 'mom' power

My journey with Ravin's book
I almost got off the habit of reading when my cousin shared his latest reads with me. He gave me the name of 'I too had a love story' by Ravinder Singh and many others, but my mind stumbled over the Indian author. Having read the novels of Chetan Bhagat, I couldn't wait to read the work of a new author from my country. I googled wildly for it, downloaded and went through the first few pages, but didn't suffice me. Holding a book and browsing its pages, reading page-by-page, pondering in its utopia is altogether a different world. This made me order it online. I started with the love story as soon as I got it.
As the name suggests, it is a romantic piece of work, but not a normal one where all is well that ends well. Ravin explains every minute detail of his liking for Khushi and her madness for him. Her small gestures, sweet gifts, his eagerness to be with her and what not!! Twist comes 3 days before their engagement and his love story ends on a sad note.
Mr. Singh's narration, his pace of revealing the plot and the gripping emotions he added up to the drama make it all the more interesting and binding. I couldn't put the book down and read it all at one go.
It has left such a mark on me that I was not able to sleep that night, just thinking about the pain Ravin went through and how much courage he should have gathered to reminisce everything, put it on the paper, read again and again and publish his account.

God Mother
The person who loves a child the most is called
'mother'. What should we call the person who feels more for the child
than mother?????.............. A God Mother!!!!

Wife of a Techie!
Being a techie's wife is boring
That too a home-maker, it's depressing
He is always in the office busy,
The poor lady at home, changing the nappy.
The man always want to marry a professional,
Never compromising on her qualifications,
Why are they so particular about all that,
When she is just going to be a door mat?
Weekdays, the manager drives him crazy,
weekends, the kids keep him busy,
Festivals are spent with the kith and kin,
Where is the time for the married woman?
Hey, you, the fat salary guy!
Just turn into a gay,
Make your manger your mate,
And stay with him day and night.
If I knew that u'll never have time for me,
Night and day, u need to work for the fee,
Never looking out for something new,
I should have never decided to marry you.
If I knew that u'll never have time for me,
Night and day, u need to work for the fee,
Never looking out for something new,
I should have never decided to marry you.
Express your love
When you are in love with someone,
Don't forget to give it an expression,
However small the context may be!
However large the crowd may be!
Feeling shy kills the vivacity,
Delaying response mars the sensitivity,
Feeling scared nullifies the creativity,
And crowd phobia suffocates the energy.
So, express your love in every possible way.
It is extremely important that you convey.
Flowers, hugs, books, diamonds,
Cards, messages,watches, escape weekends!
Communicate by every possible means,
See the affection multiply few hundred times.
But, never take each other for granted,
It deteriorates the passion you have kindled.
Plan A Baby
When you have a baby boy,
never know how the time passes by.
Count One, two, three, four,
He is no more a baby!!
when you are still on the way of recovery
trying to heal the wounds of delivery
the kid is already on his fours, crawling!
now, its his turn to keep you busy.
Crawling, sitting, standing, walking!
Cooing, shouting, screaming, talking!
Laughing, crying, sharing, enjoying!
eating, sleeping, playing, growing!
Watch every move he makes
Enjoy every milestone he crosses
Guide every step he takes
Correct every mistake he does
Did you forget the pains?
Are you ready to nurture the child?
Can you prepare him for future challenges?
Will you be a good parent? - nothing matters now!
No time to review and revise
Neither the past, nor the present
Busy earning him a happy future
Busy bringing up the child
O! The parents to be!!
Think twice before you want to be one!
Are you ready for the race?
Did you plan your Gen-X's face?
never know how the time passes by.

Groom & Husband
Bride and Groom are the newly married,
Become wife and husband after two years, bored and faded!!
Groom says, “You are my heart, you are my soul”
While the husband says, “My take on you was a fowl”
Groom says, “You and your thoughts surround me everywhere”
While the husband says, “Life with you is a nightmare”
Groom says, “Your smile turns me on.”
The husband says, “You display your 32 and my day is gone.”
Groom says, “Keep sharing your mind with me.”
While the husband says, “I order absolute silence at home.”
Groom says, “Correct my mistakes and mould me as per you”
The husband says, “Its my life, you can’t expect me to change now”
Groom says, “You see! My family is very friendly”
The husband says, “Its your mistake if you feel lonely”

Groom says, “I respect your career. You should continue with the job”
While the husband says, “Leaving the child at home, you prefer the mob?”
Groom says, “I appreciate your interests and hobbies”
The husband says, “You can’t do that with my earnings”
Groom says, “Anniversaries are festivals. We should celebrate.”
The husband says, “Today is the day, is it? Give me a break!”
The bride says, “My man is my Lord! My home is a heaven!”
The wife says, “Oh God! That’s it with this man! I beg liberation and salvation”

Marriage
Marriage is an institution,
To kill a woman's intuition.
Husbands are the only men behind this!
Anniversaries are meant to celebrate this!
By first anniversary, her nascency is gone
By second anniversary, her enthusiasm is gone
By third anniversary, her career is gone
By fourth anniversary, her intimacy with husband is gone
By fifth anniversary, none cares for her
By sixth anniversary, her life is for others
The only reason to go on are the kids
The last thing that comes to mind is romance!
First year of marriage is probation time,
Cope up with my brothers' mime.
Silence and shyness are their nature,
That shouldn't trouble you, I'm sure!
Second year is for trip on flights,
Be it ooty, shirdi or sterling heights
Just leave all your work in progress
And stay back home as my mistress
In third year, just start forgetting me
Get coached on bringing up kids for free
One baby boy keeps you always running
Never mind, you have no time left for anything!
Fourth year is the time for the next baby
Otherwise, how can we plan for our family?
The second one will always weep
And sees that you are never asleep!
Fifth year, the siblings start fighting
You should get used to keep on shouting
I will add the outcome of my busy schedule to this
And be prepared to swallow my stress candies!
Today, it is impossible to undo all these years
You don't remember the job or MBA basics
No one qualifies you for a position in their office
I have no time to be your pillar of reassurance
How am I responsible for this situation,
As you understand my health condition,
Don't dare to blame it on our marriage
My love for you is unconditional and infinite
To kill a woman's intuition.

Rakhi Wishes
Days come and days go,
But I can never forget our childhood, Bro!
Though they have faded long long ago,
I remember every minute of it, you know!
The games we used to play
The lies we used to say
The secrets we used to share
The small things we used to care
Be it at yoga, type writing or basic,
Our trio was the most classic!
You were a wizard at wordstar,
At school you were super star!
Exams used to be the scariest affair,
The day before used to be a nightmare!
Hope this brings all those days to your memory,
Along with our childhood raksha bandhan ceremony!

A sunday
When I wished for a better weekend, I never expected it to come true. Gods granted my wish. As any other day on a weekend, sunday started off late and in a lazy manner. Colors of holi - the pinks, greens, yellows and reds all over the place, marked such a vibrant morning. Kaka's pichkari, prithvi's water gun and neighbours' gulal added much needed spirit to our moods, after having not-so-memorable week.
Planning the menu for the festival, was the next thing. The thought of cooking something special itself made the process more pleasurable. Finally a detailed brunch with pudina paratha, dal tadka, aloo gobi & curd rice was set on the dining table. So much of thinking, effort and spice made the food even more delicious.
Watching Indian innings of world cup, interspersed with the most memorable duets of '60s & '70s and Erin Brockovich, while playing board games with kids, made up for a wonderful afternoon.
The household chores sprang me back to activity from the nostalgia. Doing dishes never seemed so enjoyable and absence of maid a bliss!! The peace and happiness that reigned the day until now made this possible.
What more can I ask for?? Touchwood!

Who is a Valentine?
The thought that is constantly striking my mind on this Valentine's Day is who is a valentine. It has been a ceremony to gift something to my husband every Feb 14th. But, this year I don't want to do the same. I want to put a lot of effort in understanding the very meaning of the Day. All these years, I have been taking a critical view of my husband and finding faults with him(though material gifts are being exchanged). Now, I feel enough is enough. I need to bring in some maturity in my thinking.
Valentine is the one who showers unconditional love. I have always craved for his love and pointed him many a time for not being thoughtful enough in these matters. I nag him even till today for not expressing his love and I even went to the extent of accusing him of not having any love for me. He never tried to explain or clarify my doubts. He just went on doing what he valued the most, loving me. He made breakfast for me. He even used to feed me whenever I was lazy to eat. He took care of the kids when I kept browsing on the net. He gave me the warmth I needed when I felt low and was immediately with me whenever I was into some problem. He paid complete attention to every word that came out of my mouth and empathized with every action of mine. In order to encourage me to study and work, he made many sacrifices, like taking leave from work for a day or two when I had deadlines. Helping with my household chores is his best timepass on holidays. Meeting friends was his last priority. If I ask him in this regard, he says that I am his only friend. He never complained of my weaknesses to anyone. But for doing all these, he never lost the smile on his lips. At the back of my mind, I always know that he is always there for me. Are all these not gestures of unconditional love? What more can one expect from a Valentine? Touch wood. Thank God for giving me such a Valentine!

Dhobi Ghat
Dhobi ghat.....i like it?No......i don't like it?No.
Is it good?No......bad?No......Ugly?Not definitely.
Did I understand it?No.......Didn't I?No....
Is it a film?No......Documentary?No
The only thing that strikes me is the video-taped conversations of a lonely, newly-married, new-to-mumbai sister with her brother. Rest of it went over my brains! Should I grow up? Or Kiran Rao's directorial skills???
